Inter<CAMERATA – chamber orchestra was founded in spring 2013 in Wrocław on the initiative of the Artistic Association Coolturalny Wrocław. The originator and artistic director is the conductor, clarinetist and teacher from Wrocław – Jan Jakub Bokun.
Inter <CAMERATA’s mission is to popularise less known – forgotten or still undiscovered – chamber and orchestral music, inviting the cooperation of outstandingly talented musician of the young generation, who frequently have just launched their careers. The ensemble frequently cooperates with the artists from the neighbouring countries – and in particular from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary and aims mainly at the audiences who rarely experiences music performed live. Educational mission constitutes an important aspect of the orchestra’s activity with dress rehearsals open for everyone, where the presented fragments of the program are accompanied by unconventional lectures, which aim at familiarising the audience with instruments, musical styles and forms.
The orchestra’s first concerts were organised with the cooperation of the Visegrad Fund, Czech Forum Mladych and Slovak Súbor pre komornú hudbu, initiated the project (Re)discovering forgotten masterpieces, whose consecutive editions enjoy constant popularity.
The orchestra’s repertoire includes the works of Tadeusz Baird, Samuel Barber, Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Giacomo Puccini, Giovanni Bottessini, Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Sławomir Czarnecki, Antonin Dvořák, Jindřich Feld, Richard Galliano, Mirosław Gąsieniec, Leoš Janaček, Mieczysław Karłowicz, Wojciech Kilar, Karol Kurpiński, Hajdú Mihály, Eugen Suchoň, Josef Suk, Romuald Twardowski, Lèo Weiner and Ilja Zeljenka.
Inter>CAMERATA collaborates artistically with the best soloists of the young generation of musicians, including Marta Kowalczyk, Philippe Cuper, Mariano Rey, Petr Nouzovský, Irvin Venyš, Bence Szepesi, Barbara Staszewska, Paweł Jabłczyński, Markéta Vrbková, Dawid Ogrodnik, Magdalena Kulig and Natalia Halicka.
